Daisies in a Jar Project

Since watercolor is a transparent medium, we need strategies for reserving the white of the paper to be white areas in our paintings. In this project, you’ll different ways to reserve whites, and use them to paint some white daisies in a mason jar.

NOTE: This project is part of the (free) Watercolor Jumpstart course. If you skipped directly to this project and discover you need help with the skills used in the project, please see the lesson videos in the Project 5 section of Watercolor Jumpstart.

For this project, you will want to print out the template for the underdrawing, the photo reference (blurred, so you won’t get too caught up in fussy details), and the diagram showing where to apply the masking fluid.
